A couple of swallows have made their nest under the eaves of our new house. They make a racket in the morning, but they are kind of cute and it’s amusing to watch their antics.
Welcome to the new blog-home!
I know it’s been several months since I’ve pretended to be a blogger… I took a long hiatus from posting up words on the interwebs to focus on work. While I was at it, I cleaned house a little bit on my domain, redesigned the portfolio, redesigned this blog, and put everything on WordPress. Whew!
Anyway, take a look around. Things are pretty much still organized along the traveling (going places) and crafting (making things) themes, and as long as I’m doing one or the other, I’ll try to write a little post here to make a record of it. There is also a new Pictures tab where you can see the photos I’ve uploaded to Flickr and, because I’ve been slowly trying to geotag most of my photos, you can see a lot of them (like all my favorite restaurants in Korea) plotted out on maps under the Maps tab. The Google maps there are made with a little tool called MapASet written by Brett Jones; go check it out. Can you tell I love maps? Eventually, I want to put some of my illustrated maps there too… but all in good time…

We went to Hong Kong briefly back in May, so I made a little Hong Kong travel guide. I can’t wait to get back there; it’s one of my favorite cities in the world.
Also, <promotion> it’s travel-related, so I want to take a brief moment to plug a website that I just finished branding and designing. If you ever need to rent a car in the States or Canada, check out AutoSlash.com. You know how there are some folks who could spend hours and hours reading Consumer Reports and searching for the perfect combination of coupon codes and miles benefits before they buy anything on the internet? Well, I got to know the folks at AutoSlash a little bit over the last few months and, trust me, they are that kind of geek (sorry, Jonathan, I know I just called you a geek…). So anyways, remember: AutoSlash = cheap car rental deals! </promotion>
Anyways, remember to update your bookmarks and/or change your rss feed, etc… And have a wonderful July!

Haven’t visited for a while… same as you, busy with work (new project: http://grantourismotravels.com/) and like you too, neglecting my personal blog, poor old Cool Travel Guide. Loving your new blog! Gorgeous clean design, and beautiful photography as usual. Spent two weeks in Tokyo for Grantourismo and absolutely loved it! Keen to return. Next year.
